NEMA Gathering Oct 29-31 in Cleveland Ohio http://www.clevelandfoodnotbombs.org/nema nemacleveland@excite.com This Halloween, NEMA Cleveland is inviting you to a weekend of workshops and mutual aid in lovely Cleveland. NEMA is a new anticapitalist, antiuthoritarian network in the Northeast (established this year and still in formulation). The Cleveland, OH conference will be the third(ish) meeting of NEMA participants, a time for new people to contribute to defining NEMA and for the network to further test its functionality as a tool for groups to grow together in the general area. At NEMA Cleveland (oct. 29-31), in addition to reportbacks and updates from NEMA working-groups, folks organizing the conf. are hoping to provide somewhat of a focused theme for discussions and workshops -- the theme is Community Organizing and Confronting White Cliquishness/Dominance in the Anarchist Movement -- though of course there will be variety and the schedule is still open. We are hoping that through shared discussions of the experiences of groups using different strategies for community organizing in the Northeast, and through some focused conversations about race in and outside of anarchist communities, we can use NEMA as a tool to help groups and people in the network be of benefit to each other. We are still working out a schedule of workshops, with tentative plans listed on the NEMA Cleveland website ( http://www.clevelandfoodnotbombs.org/nema/ ) Also, the weekend will be fun. Cleveland is a stimulating playground for the chakras; there are three nights of haunted bikerides through stretches of abandoned industrial Cleveland; a party at the spooky bike co-op warehouse on the river; a show at the new Cleveland venue & infoshop: the Tower; maybe a dodgeball game at the bunker?... So send us your comments, your registrations, and your bodies and friends bodies. Bring your bike, your enthusiasm, and your worst nightmare! -NEMA Cleveland Organizers
